C&C Marine and Repair has completed construction of the M/V Mimsy H. Lindner, a new towboat built for Canal Barge Company. Constructed at the company's shipyard in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, the vessel represents the latest collaboration between the two companies in support of Canal Barge Company's inland towing operations.

The M/V Mimsy H. Lindner measures 87 feet by 34 feet and is configured with a twin-screw propulsion system powered by two Mitsubishi S12R Tier 4 engines, each rated at 1,260 horsepower at 1,600 RPM. The vessel also includes two Laborde-supplied generator sets, each rated at 99kW, supporting onboard electrical systems.

The M/V Mimsy H. Lindner is the fourth vessel C&C Marine and Repair has delivered to Canal Barge Company, following the M/V Al Sloss, M/V Deborah H. Valentine, and M/V Cabby H. Boone. The continued partnership reflects a shared commitment to building dependable, purpose-built towboats designed to meet the demands of commercial marine service.

“We have been satisfied with the Mitsubishi Tier 4 engines and were pleased to continue the series with four additional sister vessels at C&C Marine, culminating with the M/V Mimsy H. Lindner,” said David Lane, Executive Vice President of Canal Barge Company. “The 2,600 horsepower gives us greater operational flexibility, from moving longer tows with more capacity along the Intracoastal Waterway to providing additional horsepower when heading upriver. We are excited about the capabilities these vessels add to our fleet and the long-term value they will bring to our customers.”

“Between the high performance of the Mitsubishi S12R series installed on Canal Barge Company’s vessels and the solid operational support we experience with Laborde Products, we feel that we’ve made a winning choice.” said Mike Stone, Manager of Vessel Engineering for Canal Barge Company. “Building some standardization into targeted trades within our fleet is an added bonus.”

"We are grateful for having the opportunity to work alongside Canal Barge throughout this project.” said Tony Cibilich, President and Owner of C&C Marine and Repair. “Their partnership, along with Laborde's, has culminated in four state-of-the-art, tier four push boats designed for operational efficiency and crew comfort. We know they are in good hands at Canal, and we look forward to seeing them operate on the river for decades to come."

Laborde Products supplied the Mitsubishi propulsion package and generator sets for the project, working closely with both C&C Marine and Repair and Canal Barge Company throughout the vessel's construction. The Mitsubishi S12R Tier 4 platform continues to provide the performance, reliability, and emissions compliance required for demanding inland towing applications.

"Projects like the M/V Mimsy H. Lindner are successful because of the collaboration between the owner, shipyard, and equipment partners from the earliest stages of construction," said Jared Legendre, Vice President of Sales at Laborde Products. "We're proud to have worked closely with both C&C Marine and Repair and Canal Barge Company to deliver a propulsion package that supports the vessel's long-term operation."
