Jantran, Inc. has completed construction of the M/V Miss Ruby, a new inland towboat built for Oakley Barge Line.
The 1,600 horsepower vessel is configured with a twin-screw propulsion system powered by two Mitsubishi S6R2-Y3 Tier 3 engines, each rated at 803 horsepower at 1,400 RPM. The propulsion package was selected to support the vessel's operating profile while providing a dependable platform for day-to-day operations on the inland waterways.
Built by Jantran for Oakley Barge Line, the Miss Ruby reflects a continued focus on proven equipment and reliable performance. The vessel was designed to support the demands of inland service while providing long-term durability and operational consistency.
Laborde Products supplied the propulsion package and worked alongside Jantran throughout the project. The Mitsubishi S6R2 platform continues to be a popular choice for inland operators, combining dependable performance with a proven track record across a wide range of vessel applications.
