Terral River Service has added the M/V Grant Gattle to its expanding fleet, a new 88-foot by 36-foot towboat built by Steiner Shipyard and designed by Farrell & Norton Naval Architects. The vessel is powered by three Mitsubishi S6R2 Tier 3 engines rated at 803 horsepower each at 1,400 RPM, supplied by Laborde Products.
The Grant Gattle follows the launch of its sister vessel, the Charlotte Gattle, earlier in 2025. Both vessels continue Terral River Service’s commitment to reliable propulsion and efficient fleet performance, operating along the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atchafalaya and Red Rivers.
“The M/V Grant Gattle represents another step forward in our fleet renewal program,” said Joshua Knichel, Vice President of Business Development at Terral River Service. “We’ve worked with Laborde Products on multiple vessels because we value their technical expertise and their understanding of what it takes to keep our operations moving. Mitsubishi engines have proven themselves to be dependable workhorses in our environment.”
Bradley Matte, Gulf Coast Territory Sales Manager at Laborde Products, noted that the new vessel continues a long-standing collaboration across the Gulf Coast’s commercial marine sector.
We were happy to work with Steiner Shipyard on another Mitsubishi powered vessel.
The M/V Grant Gattle is equipped with three Mitsubishi S6R2 Tier 3 engines providing a combined 2,400 horsepower, paired with Twin Disc reduction gears and designed for dependable performance under continuous duty cycles.
